On August 4, 1976, the Attorney General filed a formal complaint before the Grievance Committee of the Supreme Court setting out the above-stated facts, as grounds for disciplinary action. More specifically, the complaint alleged that, after a hearing at which the respondent was present and represented by counsel, the Committee found that the respondents conduct had violated the highest standards of honesty, justice and morality as prescribed by Rules 241(B) and 258 of the Supreme Court Rules Concerning the Discipline of Attorneys, and DR 1-102(A)(3), DR 1-102(A)(4) and DR 1-102(A)(6). The Hearings Committee unanimously recommended that the respondent be disbarred and that he be assessed the costs of the proceedings. That recommendation was reviewed and approved by the full Grievance Committee.
